AGS was first established in 1957.The first meeting of the Alaska Geological Society was held in Anchorage December 3, 1957.

We also host large technical conferences and are active in promoting earth science education in the community.

Our Mission.Our mission is to promote interest in, and understanding of, the geology of Alaska and to provide a forum and common organization for those interested in geology and related earth sciences.
