Saturday, April 26th 7:45 AM – 8:30 AM - Registration and Check-in 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM - Welcome and Opening Remarks 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM - Keynote Presentation, Jared Gooley USGS 9:45 AM – 10:00 AM - Morning Break and Poster Viewing 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM - Session 1: Structural Geology and Mining 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM - Lunch and Poster Viewing 12:45 PM – 2:15 PM - Session 2: Environmental and Geohazard Studies 2:15 PM – 2:30 PM - Afternoon Break and Poster Viewing 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM - Session 3: Oral Presentations 4:00 PM – 4:20 PM - Recognition of Sponsors and Student Scholarship Recipients, and Pathfinders 4:20 PM – 4:30 PM - Closing Remarks and Adjournment Sunday, April 27th Post-conference field trip (all-day, note: limited to first 25 registrants) Transect of the Mesozoic arc and Accretionary complex of South-Central Alaska, Indian to Hatcher Pass (Sue Karl, USGS) Description: This is a unique field trip in that all of the components of a contractional tectonic setting involving a subducting ocean plate, accretionary complex, mantle wedge, and island arc are beautifully exposed and easily accessible by road. *note: in an effort to make it easier to attend, we have moved the location of the workshop to the GMC and the start time to early afternoon.
