The Alaska Geological Society (AGS) is a not-for-profit organization of both professional geoscientists and general earth science enthusiasts. Our mission is to promote interest in, and understanding of, the geology of Alaska and to provide a forum and common organization for those interested in geology and related earth sciences. We have monthly luncheon meetings that are open to the public and that feature presentations by professional geoscientists from academia, government, and industry (mostly oil & gas and mining). We also host large technical conferences and are active in promoting earth science education in the community. AGS is based in Anchorage, Alaska. Have a look through our website to learn more about the Alaska Geological Society.
Recording & Reproduction Policy:
The Alaska Geological Society prohibits photography, reproduction, or video or audio recording of any presentations at AGS-hosted meetings, conventions, or poster sessions unless the presenter expressly requests otherwise in writing.
